H&R Block is hiring an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, generate statements, process payroll, and prepare tax documents, while communicating with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications, or ability to obtain certifications.
• 1–3 years bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Analytical skills and an eye for details.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
