Job summary

The Peabody Essex Museum invites applications for the 2027 Frances E. Malamy Research Fellowship to support independent projects using the Phillips Library's archives and manuscript collections.

The recipient receives a $5,500 stipend, payable in two equal installments, with research conducted in-library for at least eight weeks; results may be publicized by PEM. Open to U.S. citizens, green card holders, and certain visa holders.

Qualifications

• Research must be centered in the library's archives and manuscripts collections.
• In-library research for a minimum of eight weeks, not to be divided into more than two terms.
• Program culminates in a research summary for the library's audiences, typically a public lecture or discussion.
• This fellowship is available to U.S. citizens, green card holders, and holders of an F1 student visa or a J1 practicum/training visa.

Responsibilities

• Culminate in a public presentation or lecture for PEM audiences.
• PEM reserves the right to publicize the research results to promote research within the collection.
