Job summary

The Phillips Library, PEM’s research library, invites Spring 2027 digital projects intern to assist digitization for online collections, including imaging, post-processing, and metadata creation using local rules. The intern may inventory glass plate negatives and prepare materials for digitization by external partners.

Intern will shadow other library departments, gaining a broad view of library operations and participating in meetings and small projects.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required for this position.
• Progress in a Master of Library and Information Science is preferred.
• Interest in library services or a related field.
• Competence with Microsoft Office and Google suites.
• Attention to detail.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Digitization for the online collections portal, including imaging and post-processing.
• Create metadata using local rules.
• Inventory glass plate negatives and prepare materials for digitization by external partners.
