Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Software Engineer for the Framework team to tackle high-performance development challenges. You will design features, optimize core systems, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, secure detection and visibility tools.

The role focuses on C/C++ development, Linux-based systems, and performance optimization, with opportunities to contribute to cloud-enabled tooling and next-generation storage.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience designing and delivering production software.
• Strong expertise in C and C++ and other languages such as Go and Python.
• Experience developing on Linux Systems (multithreading, memory management, IPC).
• Proven ability to build and maintain performance-critical systems.
• Proven ability to debug complex issues (e.g., using gdb, core dumps, performance tools).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, packet processing).
• Self-starter who can operate independently, manage competing priorities, and drive work to completion with minimal oversight.
• Excellent collaborator and communicator with a growth mindset and customer-first orientation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance services for the company's Framework systems, taking ownership of features with limited guidance.
• Work across networking layers to implement and enhance protocol support.
• Participate in technical design discussions, contribute to architecture decisions, and write clear technical docs.
• Engage in agile processes: sprint planning, code reviews, retrospectives, and maintain high code quality and test coverage.
• Collaborate with Product and cross-functional engineering partners to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve production and performance issues; perform root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Contribute to platform modernization and evaluate new technologies with senior engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotations to improve observability and reliability.
