Job summary

Sol de Janeiro, headquartered in New York, is a fast-growing premium global beauty brand inspired by Rio rituals. We seek a curious Fragrance Product Development Intern to join our Fragrance Development team and gain hands‑on experience in the end-to-end fragrance product development process.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Fragrance Product Development, you will support fragrance creation, evaluation, and cross‑functional collaboration across Packaging, Project Management, Marketing, Creative,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Cosmetics, Fragrance, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
• Passion for fragrance.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work onsite at our New York office.
• Self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Fragrance Development Support: Assist end-to-end fragrance development including sample organization, meetings support, technical transfers, and launch preparation across perfume mists and other products.
• Fragrance Evaluation: Organize fragrance evaluations and document scent assessments, notes, and feedback to support development decisions.
• Trend Research: Monitor and summarize fragrance trends, technologies, ingredients, and best practices for team insights.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate across Packaging Development, Project Management, Product Marketing, Creative, and Supply Chain for lifecycle support.
• Project & Timeline Support: Maintain project milestones with trackers and documents to keep multiple projects on schedule.
• Vendor & Sample Management: Organize fragrance house submissions and samples; communicate with external partners under guidance.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare agendas and notes, organize files, and assemble materials for reviews.
• Lab & Sample Organization: Maintain an organized sample library and orderly development workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.
