Job summary

Sol de Janeiro is seeking a Packaging Engineer to drive the development and implementation of packaging solutions for fragrance products. You will collaborate with Global Product Marketing, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to ensure on-brand, functional, aesthetic, and sustainable packaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years in packaging engineering, development, testing, quality, or related function.
• Foundational knowledge of packaging materials, components, testing methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience evaluating packaging tests, interpreting specifications and drawings, and documenting results.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage packaging development for fragrance launches from feasibility through commercialization with ownership based on experience.
• Collaborate with packaging design to create feasible, innovative solutions that meet brand aesthetics and sustainability goals.
• Develop scalable, supply-chain-efficient packaging aligned with brand, cost, and quality objectives.
• Assist with troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of packaging issues.
• Contribute to risk assessments, feasibility reviews, and technical recommendations for project decisions.
• Own packaging specifications, testing, validation, and documentation for launch readiness.
