Job summary

NAVSTA Norfolk is seeking a Sales Associate to be the face of the store, engaging customers, explaining products, and promoting services. The role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, cross-selling, performing POS transactions, maintaining store appearance, and participating in inventories. A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred; retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and connect with customers to understand their needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about events, promotions, and offers.
• Provide premier customer service and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain store appearance and organization.
• Cross-sell products and know the store layout; suggest items based on customer needs.
• Handle POS transactions accurately: cash, cards, returns, and reconciliation.
• Be the keeper of merchandise; participate in inventory processes and ticketing.
• Adhere to assigned work schedule and complete tasks with accountability.
