Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Manager of the Fracture Mechanics Engineering group in the Reactor Component Engineering department. You will lead the team performing fracture mechanics analyses for NSSS equipment, including leak-before-break, flaw tolerance, and fatigue crack growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, materials, nuclear engineering, or related discipline.
• 10 years of progressively responsible engineering and/or leadership experience.
• Gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make decisions.
• Leadership competency and existing experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, including performance management, career development, and hiring.
• Manage work planning, prioritization, and resource management across all supporting departments for multiple projects.
• Ensure, high-quality delivery of engineering work products according to internal quality processes and industry standards.
• Mentor team members to improve overall team capability and technical proficiency.
• Provide management-level technical oversight for fracture mechanics evaluations following industry criteria to support emergent outage issues, long-term operations, and uprates.
• Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and a safety and quality culture.
• Coordinate emergent response to customer issues for responsibilities.
