Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Manager of the Fracture Mechanics Engineering group within the Reactor Component Engineering department to lead fracture mechanics analyses for NSSS equipment, including leak before break, flaw tolerance, and fatigue crack growth.

Based at the Cranberry Township headquarters, this hybrid role requires onsite work two days per week and offers a competitive base salary of 130,400 to 163,000 USD per year, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, materials, nuclear engineering, or related discipline.
• Typically 10 years of progressively responsible engineering and/or leadership experience.
• Gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make decisions.
• Leadership competency and existing leadership experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, including performance management, career development, and hiring.
• Manage work planning, prioritization, and resource management across supporting departments for multiple projects.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of engineering work products according to internal quality processes and standards.
• Mentor team members to improve overall team capability and technical proficiency.
• Provide management-level technical oversight for fracture mechanics evaluations following industry criteria for outages and uprates.
• Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and a safety and quality culture.
