Job summary

Gofractional is seeking a Quality & Compliance Consultant (Fractional / Contract) to lead a project-based assessment of our current quality and regulatory posture for the US market. You will design systems, protocols, and checklists to govern testing, safety, and documentation across our product categories.

The engagement runs 6 months with 10–15 hours per week to start, offering remote work and milestone reviews at 30/60/90/120 days.

Qualifications

• Deep compliance/testing background in regulated consumer categories (pet, juvenile, hardgoods).
• Experience building, not just running, a quality system from scratch.
• Prior fractional/consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Audit current quality, safety, and compliance practices across the assortment.
• Identify and prioritize gaps by risk.
• Set quality standards, AQLs, and testing protocols across product categories.
• Build inspection checklists the team follows going forward.
• Establish a factory audit framework (Sedex/SMETA) and vendor evaluation criteria.
• Document SOPs, checklists, and templates.
• Deliver a playbook so the in-house team can implement the systems after the engagement ends.

Quality & Compliance Consultant (Fractional / Contract)

Position Details:

• Remote • United States • Contract
• $125 - $175 hourly

Overview:

This is a fractional, project-based engagement to assess The Foggy Dog's current quality and compliance posture and close the highest-risk gaps. You will build the systems, protocols, and checklists our team will run on going forward, and serve as the company's authority on testing, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the engagement.

Engagement Terms:

6 months, or until project completion, whichever comes first. Estimated 10-15 hours/week to start, with flexibility for more hours if your availability allows. Milestone check-ins at 30/60/90/120 days to confirm scope and pace.

Scope of Work:

• Assessment.
  • Audit current quality, safety, and compliance practices across the assortment.
  • Identify and prioritize gaps by risk.
• Quality Assurance & Testing.
  • Set quality standards, AQLs, and testing protocols (lab, reliability, fit/use, durability) across all product categories.
  • Build inspection checklists the team follows going forward.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance.
  • Confirm correct chemical/safety standards by product.
  • Verify that all required testing has been completed for our existing product catalog, flagging any gaps.
  • Ensure all certifications, test reports, and traceability documentation are in place and audit-ready.
• Supplier Quality.
  • Establish a factory audit framework (e.g., Sedex/SMETA) and vendor evaluation criteria.
• Handoff.
  • Document SOPs, checklists, and templates.
  • Deliver a clear playbook so the in‑house team can implement the systems and protocols independently after the engagement ends.
