Job summary

Notion CFO & Advisors seeks a Fractional Controller to provide senior financial leadership for a portfolio of clients. This hands-on role oversees accounting and finance across multiple engagements and partners with leadership to drive accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

You will manage GL, AR/AP, and closings, deliver weekly/monthly reports, and develop rolling forecasts and financial models to enhance cash flow visibility and strategic decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA license is a plus.
• 3 to 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Prior experience in a fractional, consulting, or multi-client role strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full scope of accounting and finance operations for multiple clients, including general ledger, AR/AP oversight, and month- and year-end closes.
• Build and deliver weekly and monthly financial reports highlighting trends and variances for leadership.
• Develop rolling forecasts and financial models to improve cash flow visibility, risks, and opportunities.
• Oversee and optimize accounting systems and reporting infrastructure across client engagements.
• Prepare clear, decision-focused financial packages for executive leadership, including multi-scenario analyses.
• Review staff accounting work and coach for accuracy and consistency.
• Identify and implement accounting policies to strengthen governance.
• Serve as a liaison with banks, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Adapt across multiple client engagements and deliver tangible value.

We are seeking a Fractional Controller to provide senior-level financial leadership for a portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance/accounting professional who thrives in dynamic environments, managing the full scope of accounting and finance functions across a portfolio of clients or business units. The Fractional Controller will act as a trusted strategic partner to leadership while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full scope of accounting and finance operations, including general ledger activity, accounts receivable and payable oversight, and month- and year-end close processes


• Build and deliver weekly and monthly financial reports, breaking down key trends and variances to help leadership understand performance drivers


• Develop rolling forecasts and financial models to provide clients and stakeholders with better visibility into cash flow, risks, and opportunities


• Oversee and streamline accounting systems and reporting infrastructure, quickly getting up to speed on existing platforms and improving processes where applicable


• Prepare clear, decision-focused financial packages for executive leadership, including multi- scenario analysis and board-ready materials


• Review staff accounting work and provide coaching and guidance to improve accuracy, consistency, and overall quality


• Identify and implement accounting policies and procedures to strengthen financial governance


• Serve as a key point of contact for banking relationships, external auditors, and tax advisors


• Adapt seamlessly across multiple client engagements, quickly establishing credibility and delivering value in each unique environment

Qualifications

Education & Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting


• CPA license is a plus


• 3 to 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience


• Prior experience in a fractional, consulting, or multi-client role strongly preferred

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Foundation, JobBoss, ComputerEase, Sage, or similar accounting platforms


• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills


• Familiarity with AI tools and automation to improve workflow efficiency


• Familiarity with GAAP and relevant compliance frameworks
