Healthy Community Initiative (HCI) in Rice County, MN seeks a Fractional CFO to provide strategic financial leadership to the Executive Director, Leadership Team and Board. This part-time, contract role averages 4 hours per week, with occasional month-end close, audit, and board reporting.

The ideal candidate brings nonprofit finance expertise, government grant compliance, and the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in financial leadership, with CFO/Finance Director experience in nonprofit sector.
• Deep nonprofit fund accounting and government grant compliance.
• CPA or CMA designation or advanced degree in finance, accounting, or business.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to support organizational growth and program expansion.
• Lead the annual budgeting process with Leadership Team and Finance Committee.
• Develop cash flow forecasts and manage seasonal funding variations.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks and develop contingency plans.
• Oversee accounting for multiple funding sources, including state and federal grants.
• Ensure compliance with grant requirements, indirect cost allocations, and timely reporting.
• Partner with program leaders to create accurate proposal budgets for new funding.
