Job summary

The B Suite seeks a Fractional CFO to act as a strategic financial partner to the COO, C-Suite, and Management Team within a nonprofit setting. This leader will guide cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, audit readiness, and financial reporting, translating complex data into clear, decision-ready insights.

With a 20 hours-per-month commitment over a 6-month contract and an hourly starting rate of $90, this role emphasizes strong nonprofit finance expertise, governance, and collaborative leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably nonprofit or grant-funded.
• CPA, CIA, or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly and monthly financial reports covering cash position, burn rate, forecasts, and short-term outlook.
• Create rolling forecasts, scenario models, and dashboards for executive, Finance Committee, and Board review.
• Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting in partnership with the COO and department leaders.
• Monitor budget performance, funding restrictions, grant compliance, risks, trends, and financial opportunities.
• Strengthen financial policies, internal controls, reporting processes, and finance-related systems integration.
• Lead annual financial and 401(k) audits while coordinating with external accounting partners and internal teams.

• Hourly Rate: starting at $90/hour

Role Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA, CIA, or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit, mission-driven, grant-funded, or philanthropy-funded organizations.
• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow modeling, nonprofit accounting, GAAP, audits, external accounting partnerships, and financial systems such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Ramp, Concur, HubSpot, or similar tools.

B Suite Requirements for Fractional Executives

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in your area of expertise
• Experience as a senior-leader (Managing Director, AVP, VP, Chief, etc.)
• Significant experience in team leadership, people management, and coaching
• Demonstrated ability to set org-wide vision and goals for long-term success

Compensation

Starting compensation for Senior Executives is $90/hour. All consultants are 1099 contractors. All executives are eligible for referral bonuses, as well as free coaching and development to support your growth as an independent contractor.
