Job summary

TechnipFMC in Minot, North Dakota seeks a seasoned Field Service Technician to install, test, and repair equipment and tools. You will handle customer comments, provide sales support, and ensure timely completion of Field Service Orders and Spare Parts Tickets.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical diploma, at least 5 years in field service, and strong knowledge of electrical, subsea, hydraulics, mechanical equipment, and ability to read drawings. On-site supervision may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong knowledge of electrical systems, subsea equipment, hydraulics, mechanical equipment and tools, and structural steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and perform moderate complex calculations.
  • Experience in field service with a focus on equipment installation, testing, and repair.
  • Familiarity with quality documentation and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, tests and repairs new and reworked TechnipFMC products (equipment and tools).
  • Handles customer comments, requests and complaints.
  • Provides sales support ensuring the customer is fully informed of all aspects of the job.
  • Completes Field Service Orders (FSO) and Field Spare Parts Tickets (FSPT), and accountable for timely submission of these and other revenue documents.
  • Communicates quality issues and documentation back to Service Management.
  • Completes field documentation after the completion of each service job.
  • Provides project support and handles issues to minimize downtime.
  • Prepares and completes safety related documentation, pursuing safe work practices.
  • Leads others in completing tasks per procedures and codes; may serve as on-site supervisor.
  • Assists with developing procedural requirements for current and future jobs.

  • Handles customer comments, requests and complaints
  • Provides sales support ensuring the customer is fully informed of all aspects of the job
  • Completes Field Service Orders (FSO) and Field Spare Parts Tickets (FSPT), and accountable for the timely submission of these and other revenue generating documents
  • Assures all quality issues and documentation (equipment and procedural defects) is communicated and sent back to Service Management
  • Completes field documentation after the completion of each service job
  • Provides “Project Support” as required, handles project issues as they arise which eliminates downtime
  • Prepares and completes safety related documentation. Pursues safe work practices.
  • Leads others in completing tasks in accordance with procedures and applicable codes and/or standards
  • May serve as the on-site supervisor to the field service crew and for reporting back to Service management
  • Assists as needed with the development of procedural requirements for current and future jobs
You are meant for this job if:
  • High school diploma or equivalent technical diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field service technician role
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following fields: electrical; subsea equipment; hydraulics equipment; mechanical equipment and tools; structural steel
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Able to perform moderate complex calculations
  • Ability to understand, troubleshoot, explain and teach others about technical tools and instruments required to perform duties
  • Knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted internal business processes and procedures
