Job summary

RTX is seeking a detail-oriented Focal Plane Test Operator in Goleta, CA for the 2nd shift (2PM - 10:30PM) to set up, operate and verify test structures and systems. You will handle test data, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate calibration and safety standards in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of relevant experience, plus US citizenship for access to program information.

Responsibilities

Set up and configure test structures and equipment according to engineering specifications and testing requirements, executing pre-test preparation when necessary.
Ensure proper handling, storage and tracking of test structures throughout the process.
Execute testing operations, including functional, structural, and performance tests, while adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
Monitor test processes and accurately record data for analysis and reporting purposes in an organized and detailed fashion.
Identify and troubleshoot issues during testing, escalating complex problems to the engineering team as needed.
Maintain test equipment for optimal performance by ensuring routine maintenance and calibration are current, coordinating with appropriate teams as needed.
