Job summary

NewSpace Technical in El Segundo, CA is seeking an FPGA Hardware Verification & Test Engineer to verify and test FPGA/SoC-based systems in a hardware lab environment. You will work with FPGA designers, systems and hardware engineers to bring designs to life, test on real hardware, troubleshoot issues and support verification through the product lifecycle.

The role emphasizes hands-on verification, test automation and cross-functional collaboration in aerospace-adjacent hardware environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on FPGA/SoC technologies, digital electronics or embedded systems experience.
• Experience developing and executing verification or validation tests against requirements.
• Lab testing in a hardware lab environment, troubleshooting digital hardware.
• Ability to translate requirements into test procedures.
• Experience documenting results and communicating findings clearly.
• Confidence collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for FPGA- and SoC-based systems.
• Support hardware bring-up, integration and on-target testing.
• Operate oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators and power supplies.
• Investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis and document results.
• Develop scripts/tools to automate test execution and data collection.
• Verify digital interfaces (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429).
• Maintain clear records of procedures, results and verification evidence.
• Collaborate with design, systems, verification and hardware teams to stay on track.
• Support regression testing after design updates and hardware changes.
