Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation is seeking a seasoned FPGA prototyping engineer to craft prototypes for our next generation GPUs and SOCs. The role involves making RTL FPGA-friendly, partitioning designs, guiding synthesis and place-and-route, and improving timing through rigorous analysis.

You will bring up designs on FPGA platforms, generate bit streams, and support customers with field issues. Strong collaboration with architects, verification engineers, and SW teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BS (or equivalent) in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 12+ years, or MS with 10+ years proven FPGA prototyping experience.
• Experience with FPGA prototyping architecture, devices, flows and tools.
• Backend flows of FPGA prototyping – Synthesis, P&R and timing closure, with Protocompiler/VPS and Vivado.
• Exposure to ASIC design/verification tools (VCS or equivalent, Verdi, GDB).
• Knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog and digital design concepts.
• Good debugging and problem solving skills.
• Hands-on lab FPGA debug methodologies and equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

Responsibilities

• Build FPGA prototypes by making RTL FPGA-friendly, partitioning the design and taking it through synthesis and place and route.
• Improve prototype performance, analyze timing and generate bit streams.
• Bring up designs on FPGA prototyping platforms and solve problems.
• Release prototypes to customers and provide support for issues.
• Define configurations, develop bringup/testing infrastructure and verify design correctness.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, verification engineers, and software teams to complete tasks.
