Job summary

Epiq Solutions is seeking a Manager of FPGA Engineering to lead and contribute to FPGA development for SDR products in Rolling Meadows, IL. This is a hands-on leadership role combining direct FPGA work with people management and strategic execution.

You will guide architecture, verification, and deployment while aligning with hardware, software, and test teams to meet product objectives. Travel to the site will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 10 years FPGA/digital design experience, with delivery of FPGA-based products.
• Strong RTL design experience using Verilog/SystemVerilog and/or VHDL; practical Verilog/SystemVerilog preferred.
• Experience with FPGA simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and verification.
• Proficiency with modern FPGA toolchains; Vivado experience strongly preferred.
• Experience integrating FPGA IP and interfacing with processors, memory, and high-speed devices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex FPGA and system-level issues in a lab setting.
• Work location can be on-site, hybrid, or remote with regular visits to Rolling Meadows.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for FPGA architecture, RTL design, simulation, synthesis, and verification.
• Contribute to FPGA architecture and design while leading the team.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align roadmaps, priorities, schedules, and risks.
• Develop credible estimates for FPGA effort, resources, and timelines.
• Oversee multiple FPGA development efforts and manage dependencies and risks.
• Guide DSP and high-speed data processing within FPGA-based SDR platforms.
• Evaluate FPGA devices, tools, IP, and interfaces; stay current with advances.
• Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and power requirements.
• Promote robust design and verification practices with reviews and documentation.
• Represent Epiq in customer discussions with strong technical credibility.
• Lead a growing team, recruit, onboard, and foster career development.
