Job summary

Austin Sensing Company in Austin, Texas designs radar, acoustic, and RF sensors for defense and critical infrastructure. We are hiring an FPGA Engineer to own high-speed data acquisition, processing, and hardware interfaces from architecture to field testing.

You will work with RF, electrical, signal processing, and embedded teams to implement reliable, low-latency logic and verify it with testbenches and simulations. This role focuses on real-time, robust hardware solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience developing FPGA designs from RTL through verification and deployment.
• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL.
• Strong understanding of synchronous digital design, clock-domain crossings, timing constraints.
• Experience with FPGA simulation, synthesis, implementation, and timing analysis.
• Experience building pipelined processing architectures and managing memory and data flow.
• Hands-on debugging with oscilloscopes and FPGA debug tools.
• Ability to balance throughput and latency with memory and power constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement FPGA logic for sensor data acquisition, signal processing, and control.
• Collaborate with RF, electrical, signal processing, and embedded systems engineers to translate algorithms into hardware.
• Develop testbenches and simulations to verify functionality before hardware testing.
• Own synthesis, implementation, timing constraints, and timing closure for your designs.
• Document interfaces, resource utilization, and performance results, ensuring repeatable verification workflows.
