Job summary

RTX is seeking an FPGA Electrical Engineer II in the Multi-Product Power & Digital (MPD) Department in the US. The role covers full lifecycle FPGA design, verification, and integration across defense-grade products such as missiles and radars.

You will develop architectures, write VHDL/Verilog, perform validation in a lab, and document the design and verification plans. This onsite role offers growth within a leading aerospace and defense company.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM major.
• Experience with FPGA/ASIC design or verification (VHDL/Verilog or SystemVerilog).
• Experience with AMD Vivado, Altera Quartus Prime Pro or Libero; lab integration and code release in teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle support of production quality FPGA designs for major vendors and device families (AMD Xilinx, Altera, Microchip).
• Generate FPGA designs for gigabit interfaces, RF DSP, controls, data links, embedded processing.
• Assist with architecture development of FPGA-based systems to determine parts and CONOPS.
• Design and code in VHDL/Verilog for reliability and maintainability.
• Support verification with self-checking tests and coverage tracking.
• Report execution status within an agile framework and budget.
• Create documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user guides.
