Job summary

Insight Global seeks a talented engineer to develop FPGA solutions using VHDL/Verilog or High-Level Synthesis, and to support program teams toward milestones. You will assist testbench development, simulation, and integration, while contributing to technical reports and team presentations.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, with graduation by Dec 2026. Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Git, plus strong communication and teamwork, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Enrollment in an accredited degree program relevant to this position will be considered.
• Graduation date no later than Dec 2026.
• Familiar with software development concepts: source control, agile development, and good coding practices.
• Experience developing on embedded platforms and/or FPGAs.
• Experience with C, C++, and Python.
• Experience using Git or similar distributed version control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to operate in a research environment with unknowns and undiscovered paths.
• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA solutions using VHDL, Verilog, or High-Level Synthesis.
• Support program teams through technical tasking to achieve milestones.
• Assist testbench development, simulation, and integration of system components.
• Contribute to technical reports and presentations.
• Participate in project execution, attend meetings, and present research to the team.
• Tackle tasks to leverage and expand candidate skills across architecture, software/VHDL, and system analysis.
• Contribute to innovative concepts and research programs in communications, systems, and applications.
• Investigate, develop, and document technology approaches and solutions for internal and sponsored programs.
• Communicate objective findings and their implications.
• Design synthesis translating objectives into requirements and architectures for complex systems.
• Work with teammates to develop AI/ML methods for controlling and optimizing performance.
• Develop expertise in software development, FPGA engineering, infrastructure, techniques, and tools.
• Support development of technical reports/presentations for projects of moderate/high complexity.
• Contribute to white papers and proposals with background data.
• Contribute to technical reports/presentations in journals and conferences.
