Leonardo DRS is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join the EOIS team in Melbourne, FL. You will contribute to FPGA-centric digital design, working cross-functionally to develop, integrate, and test infrared sensing and imaging systems.

Hands-on engineering will be essential, with collaboration across disciplines to meet program goals. The role emphasizes architecture, RTL, verification, and prototype development while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
• Three or more years FPGA design experience.
• Proficiency in VHDL and ability to integrate/simulate Verilog.
• Experience with at least one FPGA development tool suite.
• Experience with FPGA simulation tools (ModelSim/QuestaSim preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to execute complex designs within schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsabilités

• Participation in requirements analysis and electronics architecture.
• RTL development, testbench design, and functional verification.
• Synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure; design verification testing.
• Generate FPGA design documentation and provide status updates.
• Develop prototypes to retire key development risks.
• Communicate clearly with team and customers as required.
• Support, reinforce and defend company values and mission.
