FP&A Senior Manager Fully Remote – Eastern or Central Time Zone

Reporting directly to the CFO • Executive and PE-investor visibility • Front-row seat on M&A as we scale from $150M to $250M

The Opportunity

Own FP&A for a $150M private equity–backed company on track to reach $250M within the next twelve months — with direct access to the CFO, Executive Management, and the PE investors driving that growth. This is a rare chance to take a well‑oiled machine with a strong, collaborative team to the next level.

Unlimited Technology is a national security systems integrator headquartered in Northern Virginia, growing rapidly through both organic expansion and M&A activity. We’re hiring a highly capable FP&A Senior Manager that will be an integral part of the growth story.

Role Overview

The FP&A Senior Manager will be a highly hands‑on leader responsible for driving financial insights, improving reporting, and supporting key business decisions. The role has no direct reports today — but it’s built to grow. As the company scales toward $250M and beyond, we expect this role’s scope to expand, with the opportunity to build and lead a team over time.

The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills, a deep analytical mindset, and the ability to partner effectively across the organization. Success requires quickly learning the business, understanding operational drivers, and delivering accurate, timely financial insights.

The business utilizes percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition, so experience in a project‑based, multi‑branch service environment and familiarity with work‑in‑process (WIP) schedules is preferred.

This is a high‑visibility role that works closely with the CFO (direct manager), Controller, General Managers, Operations leadership, Service Director, and other executives.

Why This Role

  • Direct line to the CFO and board‑level exposure from day one
  • A front‑row seat on M&A activity — from diligence through integration of acquired businesses
  • Real ownership: implementing the latest technology to build out reporting, forecasting, and analytics infrastructure beyond traditional Excel models
  • Backed by private equity investors actively funding growth toward $250M and beyond
  • Fully remote flexibility, Eastern or Central time zone

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and recurring forecasting cycles
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for internal and external financial reporting, including understanding underlying data and developing efficient reporting tools and dashboards
  • Support the monthly close process, including commission accruals, payroll analysis, travel expense review, and select balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare, analyze, and communicate financial data, including investigating significant variances
  • Incorporate AI technology to streamline analysis and the closing process

Business Partnering & Analysis

  • Partner with the VP of Sales to analyze customer profitability, bookings, and backlog trends
  • Support Branch General Managers and Project Managers with job performance analysis and multi‑branch P&L insights
  • Conduct gross margin analysis to ensure proper matching of revenue and costs
  • Manage labor utilization reporting and analysis in support of the COO

Private Equity & M&A

  • Serve as the liaison with Private Equity investors, preparing and presenting financial data
  • Support financial analysis of M&A targets and assist with integration of acquired businesses

Keys to Success

We need an individual who:

  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with limited oversight
  • Embraces change and continuous improvement
  • Is exceptionally organized and detail‑oriented
  • Has natural curiosity and digs into data and systems to validate trends and outputs
  • Can manage multiple priorities and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization including at the Board level
  • Builds strong cross‑functional relationships and demonstrates a professional, assertive presence
  • Is an analytical thinker with strong business intuition and the ability to focus on what matters most
  • Is able to analyze data to tell the story in a concise manner vs. just reporting out numbers

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
  • Minimum six years of FP&A experience, including at least three years in a project‑based, multi‑branch service business as an FP&A lead
  • While this is an FP&A‑focused role, a strong accounting foundation is required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

Pay Range

$140,000 - $180,000 USD

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life insurance
  • 401 (k) w/company match 100% up to 3% and an additional 50% match of 2%
  • Paid time off
  • 11 Paid Holidays
  • Company Equity after 1 year
