Job description

We're partnering with a fast-growing global manufacturing company on the search for a newly created FP&A Manager position.

This is a true business partnering role where you'll lead a growing team and work directly with business unit leaders to help them understand what's driving performance and make better decisions. Rather than simply reporting the numbers, you'll be expected to understand the nuances of each business, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities and translate financial results into meaningful commercial insight.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll initially manage two staff with the team expected to continue growing over the next few years. It's a great opportunity to join a highly collaborative finance organization, take on significant ownership from day one, and continue expanding your scope as both the company and team grow.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team, helping them become stronger commercial partners to their respective business units
  • Act as a senior finance partner to business unit leaders, developing a deep understanding of their operations, priorities and key performance drivers
  • Own monthly business reviews across P&L performance, margins, operating expenses, headcount and capital investment
  • Turn financial results into clear insights around what's happening in the business, why it's happening and what leadership should do next
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for the business units, partnering directly with operational leaders to build realistic plans and improve forecast accuracy
  • Identify risks and opportunities, challenge assumptions and help leaders evaluate potential courses of action
  • Standardize and improve reporting across the business units, creating a more consistent view of performance for senior leadership
  • Support strategic analysis across areas including pricing, investment decisions, new products and longer-term planning
  • Prepare and present clear, decision-useful analysis to senior finance and business leadership

What we’re looking for:

  • 6+ years of progressive FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering experience
  • Proven people management experience with a track record of developing strong teams
  • Genuine business partnering experience and the curiosity to understand how a business actually operates, rather than focusing solely on whether the numbers tie
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the confidence to work directly with senior non-finance leaders
  • Experience within manufacturing or another product-based business is helpful but not required
