Job summary

HMH is seeking an enthusiastic FP&A Intern to join our Finance team in Houston. The role offers hands‑on experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, supporting key business decisions and gaining insight into a thriving organization.

You will assist monthly closes, forecasts, and budgets, while developing financial models and presenting findings to management. The internship runs 12 weeks, May 24 – August 13, 2027, with full‑time hours in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled at time internship commences and pursuing a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business from an accredited university.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work with large data sets
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly financial reports, forecasts, and budgets
  • Support variance analysis by comparing actual results to budget and prior periods
  • Help develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long‑range planning
  • Analyze financial and operational metrics to derive business improvement suggestions
  • Prepare presentations and deliverables to communicate findings to management
  • Support ad‑hoc financial analysis and project work as assigned
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Sales and Operations) to complete projects and support business objectives

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented FP&A Intern to join our Finance team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting while supporting key business decisions and gaining insight into the operations of a thriving organization.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly financial reports, forecasts, and budgets

  • Detail‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status. No relocation assistance provided. Internship is 12 weeks, May 24 - August 13, 2027. Location Houston, TX. This position is not open to visa sponsorship.
