McDermott Will & Schulte in Chicago seeks a Financial Analyst, FP&A, to prepare standard and ad-hoc financial reports for the Firm’s practice group leaders and senior managing partners. You will work under general supervision to support data-driven business decisions and ongoing financial analysis.

The role requires 1–3 years of finance experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–3 years of finance, accounting or consulting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word).

Responsabilités

• Prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports summarizing key performance indicators and profitability at the practice group, office, and attorney level.
• Support the financial managers in design and preparation of the monthly financial reporting package; participate in monthly review calls with senior management and address follow-ups.
• Configure specifications to accurately and efficiently extract data from the Firm’s financial reporting software.
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve inquiries related to financial matters; collaborate with other analysts within team and cross-functionally to resolve issues.
• Perform ongoing audits of financial system data to ensure data accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standard operating procedures.
• Assist with the annual budgeting process and the analysis of lateral hires.
• Support the maintenance of the Firm’s financial software and reporting tools.
• Assist with quarterly and annual bank surveys
