Job description

Re:Build Manufacturing is a growing family of industrial and engineering businesses combining enabling technologies, operational superiority, and strategic M&A to build America’s next generation industrial company. At Re:Build we deploy deep expertise in engineering, operations management, and technology to supercharge the performance of our member companies. We leverage deep professional expertise and a candid, principled operating culture to drive differentiated outcomes. Ours is a fast-paced environment where individuals can stretch and be challenged to pursue their fullest potential.

Re:Build was founded to pioneer a profitable model for the revitalization of US manufacturing. We’ve assembled a powerful set of complimentary capabilities and lines of business that enable us to pursue a wide range of end markets. Our acquired businesses are grounded in build-to-print and by-the-hour engineering and design services, and we’re leveraging their combined expertise to migrate to increasingly sophisticated program development and production, as well as the generation of our own products. Our unique set of capabilities lend themselves to highly complex systems and products, and we offer customers a range of services including product and systems design, automation, fabrication, assembly, and large volume contract manufacturing. Our customers span a wide array of industries including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.

Who we are looking for

The Finance Lead will strengthen and modernize how Re:Build reports on the balance sheet and cash flow statement across our portfolio of manufacturing and engineering businesses. Reporting to the VP of FP&A and working as a senior individual contributor on the corporate FP&A team, you will partner with finance and operations teams at every Re:Build site to bring consistency, rigor, and automation to working capital and liquidity reporting.

This position combines finance and technology in equal measure. You will work in SQL and our Snowflake data environment with AI-powered development platforms. Together, these tools help build reporting that is faster, more accurate, and more scalable than the processes they replace. You will own the design and buildout of balance sheet and cash flow reporting capabilities—not just maintaining them, but materially expanding what the organization can see and act on. Just as important, this role is an operator as well as a reporter. You will act as the authority on cash for Re:Build, actively driving working capital and liquidity performance across the portfolio rather than only measuring it.

The ideal candidate is a manufacturing finance professional. They have experience reporting on or working with inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other factors that influence cash flow and operational funds. You're energized by building the tools and reporting infrastructure that turn that knowledge into insight, and you're comfortable working independently. You translate ambiguous needs into durable solutions and work across many businesses with different systems and levels of maturity.

What you get to do
  • Compose, build, and automate financial position and liquidity reporting across Re:Build's member companies, replacing manual spreadsheet processes with scalable infrastructure
  • Develop and own working capital reporting (inventory, AR, AP, cash conversion) and deliver insights that help operating teams manage performance
  • Write SQL in Snowflake to source, transform, and validate financial data; leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development
  • Partner with finance and operations leaders across Re:Build sites to standardize definitions, improve data quality, and ensure consistent reporting
  • Support liquidity analysis, cash flow forecasting, and balance sheet reviews for corporate and member-company collaborators
  • Translate complex financial data into clear visualizations and reporting for senior leadership
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert on cash and working capital for Re:Build, owning the reporting cadence and partnering with operating teams to optimize cash flow performance
  • Lead the accounts receivable review, drive collections follow-up, and help member companies identify and remove roadblocks
  • Partner with member companies to track, monitor, and improve inventory performance
  • Drive special projects related to financial reporting modernization and FP&A automation initiatives
What you Bring to the Team
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5-10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing finance
  • Strong understanding of financial position and liquidity statements and how operational drivers (working capital, inventory, AR/AP) flow through them
  • Hands-on experience writing SQL queries; experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar)
  • Consistent record of building or significantly enhancing financial reporting processes, ideally transitioning from manual spreadsheets to automated solutions
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate work under deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating across multiple business divisions or sites
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA
  • Experience in a multi-site or multi-business-unit manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor)
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor) to accelerate reporting and analysis
  • Experience building AI agents or automations to streamline finance workflows and take repetitive work out of the process
  • Proven ability to act independently and inspire change and improvement in fast-paced, high-growth, or groundbreaking settings (e.g., private equity‑or‑venture‑backed, startup, or portfolio company environments)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, etc.)
