Job description

Re:Build Manufacturing is a growing family of industrial and engineering businesses combining enabling technologies, operational superiority, and strategic M&A to build America’s next generation industrial company. At Re:Build we deploy deep expertise in engineering, operations management, and technology to supercharge the performance of our member companies.

Re:Build was founded to pioneer a profitable model for the revitalization of U.S. manufacturing. We’ve assembled a powerful set of complementary capabilities and lines of business that enable us to pursue a wide range of end markets. Our acquired businesses are grounded in build‑to‑print and by‑the‑hour engineering and design services, and we’re leveraging their combined expertise to migrate to increasingly sophisticated program development and production, as well as the generation of our own products.

Who we are looking for

The Senior Software Engineer is a key technical contributor who designs, develops, and scales cloud‑native software solutions that power Re:Build’s digital platforms. In line with The Re:Build Way, this role combines deep hands‑on engineering with thoughtful architectural influence, emphasizing ownership, accountability, and long‑term system health.

You will collaborate closely with product, design, and cross‑functional engineering partners, working in a candid and respectful manner to solve real business problems. You bring a practical, outcome‑driven mindset to innovation, thoughtfully integrating emerging technologies such as AI/ML where they add measurable value, and delivering high‑quality software that balances speed, reliability, and maintainability.

The ideal candidate thrives in complex environments, approaches challenges with curiosity and discipline, and holds themselves and others to high engineering standards. You champion clean, efficient, and testable code, actively participate in code reviews, and contribute to team growth through mentorship and knowledge sharing. Guided by a mindset of continuous improvement, you stay current with industry trends and help shape Re:Build’s technology roadmap—ensuring our systems remain scalable, secure, and built to endure.

What you get to do!
  • Lead the design and architecture of software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance.
  • Solve complex technical challenges and optimize system performance through innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and direction to help them grow.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product, QA, and operations, to drive product development and ensure successful delivery.
  • Adhere to best practices with company software.
Must‑Have Qualifications
  • Experience: 7+ years of professional software development, with a solid understanding of cloud‑based application development.
  • Programming & Frameworks: Strong experience architecting and deploying cloud‑native, serverless, and containerized applications on AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions, API Gateway, Fargate).
  • AI/ML Integration: Experienced in integrating AI/ML technologies into production software systems, leveraging frameworks like OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and LangChain, with a strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, APIs, and intelligent automation workflows.
  • APIs & Integration: Proficiency in designing and working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Security & Compliance: Awareness of authentication, authorization, encryption, and compliance best practices for cloud‑hosted applications.
  • Foundational Knowledge:
  • Agile Practices: Hands‑on experience participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross‑team collaboration.
Personal & Professional Attributes
  • Brings enthusiasm, optimism, and a can‑do attitude to every project.
  • Leads by example—mentors junior developers, supports peers, and takes ownership of key technical decisions with confidence and humility.
  • Analytical and inventive, able to break down complex technical challenges and design innovative, efficient solutions.
  • Adaptable and resilient, skilled at navigating shifting priorities, new technologies, and evolving business needs.
  • Communicates clearly and thoughtfully, fostering trust and alignment across teams.
  • Highly organized, focused, and effective in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
  • Exhibits strong problem‑solving skills with consistent attention to detail and quality.
  • Collaborative teammate who works seamlessly across engineering, management, and cross‑functional partners.
