Job summary

STR is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead the company’s budgeting, forecasting, rate development, and investment analysis. Reporting to the CFO, this role directs AI and analytics initiatives to improve forecasting and data-driven decision making across a highly regulated, growth‑oriented organization.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years in finance with 7+ years in FP&A and a proven track record in complex, audit-intensive environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field required; MBA or Master's preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in defense contracting industry.
• At least 7 years of FP&A experience and 10+ years in people management.
• Experience with enterprise planning and financial analytics tools; AI/automation in finance a plus.
• Experience supporting external audits and government compliance (DCAA/DFARS).
• Familiarity with SOX, SEC reporting, and Board governance.

Responsibilities

• Shape the future of the finance function as a member of the Finance Leadership Team by introducing best-in-class processes and tools for automation, efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Champion adoption of AI and machine learning techniques within FP&A to enhance forecasting, scenario modeling, and data-driven decision making.
• Oversee annual operating plans (AOP), monthly forecasts, and long-range strategic planning; align operational, financial, and strategic objectives.
• Develop and refine indirect rate strategies to ensure competitive, compliant cost structures in line with contracts and strategy.
• Lead financial analysis and tracking for investments; partner with HR on incentive compensation plans; provide actionable investment insights.
• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise KPIs and financial metrics for investor-grade transparency.
