Job description

Do you enjoy hands-on outdoor work, problem-solving, and seeing a job through from start to finish? Are you someone who takes pride in delivering excellence in the field and being part of a team that's making a real impact? If so, PondMedics wants to meet you!

SKILLS THAT TRANSLATE

If your background includes any of the following, your skills would translate well into this field-service, route-based, AI-proof industry:

Outdoor & landscaping trades: Ranch hand, farm hand, landscaper, irrigator, groundskeeper, property manager

Mechanical & electrical trades: Electrician, HVAC technician, welder, plumber, small-engine or equipment mechanic, appliance repair technician, fleet or diesel mechanic

Water-adjacent trades: Pool technician, marina or boat technician, well or septic technician, fire sprinkler technician, irrigation technician

Route-based & general field trades: Pest control technician, HOA or property maintenance technician, security/alarm installer, cable or satellite installer, utility lineman, general tradesman, handyman

If you've spent your career keeping something running out in the field, you already have what it takes — you just may not have known this industry existed and need the training it takes to learn fountains. That’s where we come in!

WHO WE ARE

PondMedics Family of Brands is a 24-year-old, family-owned company revolutionizing the surface and stormwater management industry. Our brands — Fountain Freedom, dredgeSMART, AquaInject, Simple Pond Care, and PondCure — deliver cutting‑edge solutions to homeowners' associations, municipalities, engineers, agencies, and more, and we also operate as a registered civil engineering company.

We operate our business as a ministry — Business as a Ministry, or “BaaM” — which means our impact isn't only inside PondMedics, but to our entire sphere of influence outside the company's walls as well. We give and serve inside and outside the business, care for people through our PondMedics CARES program, and view ourselves as stewards of what we've been entrusted with. Success here isn't just professional — it's personal and purposeful.

Together, we're working to become the engine that empowers the lake management industry for the next generation of environmental stewards!

ABOUT FOUNTAIN FREEDOM

Fountain Freedom is our floating-fountain and aeration program, delivered as a subscription — Fountains-as-a-Service (FaaS). Customers never buy the equipment; we own it, monitor it remotely, and guarantee it: if a customer's fountain is down more than 7 days in a month, they don't pay for that month. “We keep water in the air, or you don't pay.” That guarantee is only as good as the team that keeps it — which is where you come in.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Fountain Technician with Fountain Freedom, you'll be on the front lines delivering, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the floating fountains and aeration systems that keep our FaaS guarantee true. You'll operate equipment, install technology, and represent the PondMedics brand on-site with professionalism and care.

You won't be behind a desk — you'll be in the field, putting your hands and skills to work. This is a role for someone who's reliable, teachable, and driven to do things the right way, every time. Techs who show that consistently have a real path here into our Field Lead seat — site leadership, safety and quality ownership, and the next level of responsibility on the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install & Deliver: Set up and install fountains, aerators, and related equipment with accuracy and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot & Maintain: Diagnose and resolve fountain and control‑panel issues in the field, keeping our uptime guarantee intact
  • Operate Equipment: Safely and confidently use the tools and equipment the job requires
  • Keep Sites Clean: Leave every project site better than you found it — clean, professional, and complete
  • Follow Instructions: Execute job plans as directed by your Field Lead and Brand Director
  • Communicate Clearly: Share job updates, needs, and issues with clarity and timeliness using our process and systems
  • Support the Team: Step in where needed and lend a hand to teammates across the PondMedics family
YOUR BACKGROUND

You're dependable, coachable, and not afraid of hard work. You're someone who shows up ready to get the job done — and do it well. Whether you're installing a fountain, troubleshooting a panel, or cleaning up a job site, you know every detail matters.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Mechanical or electrical aptitude (experience with pumps, fountains, or water systems a plus)
  • Basic construction, field work, or equipment repair experience
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • A commitment to safety and a clean work environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A willingness to follow direction and take pride in your work
  • An eye toward growth — our Field Leads started right where you'd be starting
WHAT WE VALUE

At PondMedics, culture is king. We're looking for individuals who embody our core values — the six H's:

  • Helpful: If you know the best way to do something, you'll do excellent work. If you share that knowledge with others, you'll become a leader out of a heart of giving.
  • Hungry: We want you to find your comfort zone. And then seek to challenge the heck out of it, over and over. Complacency kills. Creativity is found in hunger.
  • Happy: Happy, motivated, and positive people are life‑giving. A positive attitude is good for you, and the team, and our customers. We look for this.
  • Humble: While there's always a time and place to celebrate individual accomplishments, no single person is greater than the team.
  • Honest: Honesty is your willingness to communicate what you're thinking or feeling, even when it's uncomfortable or unpopular. Trust — the glue of relationships — is solidified with honesty.
  • Healthy: Healthy isn't just about green smoothies and gym sessions. Healthy identities, relationships and responses to God, others and ourselves is a cornerstone to success and thriving. We depend on this.

Our team thrives on mutual encouragement, accountability, and the belief that every voice matters. If you're someone who celebrates milestones, learns from challenges, and contributes with excellence, you'll feel right at home here.

YOUR SUCCESS IS OUR PASSION

We'll measure your success by your ability to:

  • Deliver flawless installations and repairs
  • Represent the PondMedics brand with professionalism
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks accurately
  • Support your teammates and serve customers with excellence
  • Embody and promote PondMedics' core values
WHY JOIN PONDMEDICS?
  • Purpose-Driven Culture: Work for a company that cares about your professional and personal growth.
  • Room to Grow: Many of our Field Leads started exactly where this role starts — site leadership is the next seat up. Fountain Freedom's uptime guarantee is the first of its kind and is growing rapidly.
  • Real Structure, Real Follow-Through: We run our company on EOS (the same operating system behind the book Traction) — clear priorities, a consistent quarterly rhythm, and leadership held accountable to the same standards as everyone else.
  • Supportive Team: Join a group of people who want to see you succeed.
  • Skill-Building: Gain experience with high-end, technology-driven equipment and meaningful work.
  • Giving Back: Be part of a company that gives and lives generously.
