Job summary

McWane, Inc. seeks a Tooling Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of foundry tooling used for ductile iron waterworks products. You will guide tooling design, gating, and casting processes, collaborating with multiple teams to ensure safe, cost-effective production and high-quality castings.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional coordination, and a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Metallurgical engineering required.
  • Minimum 3 years of tooling design experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing.
  • Experience with ductile iron or castings preferred.
  • Experience with waterworks products is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer foundry tooling for patterns and core boxes.
  • Run gating and risering analyses to optimize casting quality.
  • Lead tooling revisions and coordinate with vendors.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Operations to ensure safety and quality.
  • Support tooling-related capital projects.
