We are hiring a Foundry Tech based in Shelbyville. The role involves monitoring the refining and casting of copper, with previous foundry experience working with molten metals preferred. This position is on-site and offers a starting pay of $22.00 per hour.

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts with 2 weekends off per month and 8 days off after 4 rotations. Shifts are from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM to 6:00 AM. Pay is weekly.

Responsibilities

1. Assist with charging, melting, refining, and casting processes, including temperature controls, sampling, monitoring fume systems, and preparing runways.
2. Safely operate forklifts to move molten metals.
3. Skim slag from molten metal surfaces.
4. Perform housekeeping, preventative maintenance, and cleaning in the foundry.
5. Inspect procedures visually for issues and defects.
6. Notify and work with the Casting Operator to correct defects.
7. Coordinate with other departments to address process issues.
8. Follow instructions from supervisors to complete work.

Qualifications

1. Ability to safely meet and exceed production and quality standards.
2. Ability to work 12-hour shifts supporting a 24/7 operation.
3. Basic math skills.
4. Strong communication skills.
5. Ability to work in conditions with noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
