• Develop shell molding and heat treat plans to support the Weekly Pouring Schedule.
• Monitor cavity loss and scrap and coordinate with Quality and Materials to meet goals.
• Ensure pouring, heat treatment and foundry procedures are followed by production staff.
• Assist in maintaining and improving product quality across foundry operations.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Metallurgical Groups on new methods, equipment, and product.
• Enforce company policies and procedures.
• Understand union contract provisions and implications.
• Evaluate staffing needs and coordinate with management on adjustments.
• Determine overtime requirements and schedule accordingly.
• Assist in training of new employees.
• Support Quality, Productivity & Environmental certification programs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

L.E. Jones Company is seeking candidates for a Foundry Supervisor, 3rd shift.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for the production of quality castings necessary to manufacture product meeting customer specifications in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner. Provide leadership and direction to the production workforce ensuring the work performed is done in a safe and efficient manner.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Actively support and promote company Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Execute Weekly Pouring Schedule efficiently.
• Develop the shell molding & heat treat plans to sufficiently support the Weekly Pouring Schedule.
• Monitor cavity loss and scrap; work with Quality and Materials department personnel to meet company goals in both categories.
• Monitor and ensure established pouring, heat treatment and other foundry procedures are adhered to by production employees.
• Help to maintain and improve product quality in all foundry operations.
• Work with Engineering and Metallurgical Groups on new methods, equipment & product.
• Enforce company policies and procedures.
• Develop an adequate understanding of the union contract provisions.
• Evaluate foundry staffing needs & work with management on staffing adjustments as necessary.
• Determine departmental overtime needs and schedule accordingly.
• Assist in training of new employees.
• Assist with implementation of Quality, Productivity & Environmental certification programs.
• Actively support L.E. Jones Company continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with maintenance department to maintain and repair equipment and support L.E. Jones Company preventative maintenance program.
• Work with Purchasing to order & maintain adequate levels of foundry production supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized workplace.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Previous supervisory experience preferred, excellent organizational skills, Microsoft Office Skills, able to maintain a cooperative working relationship with management, peers, and subordinates; and a knowledge of foundry practices.
