Job Summary

The Foundry Supervisor oversees daily production operations within the foundry, ensuring that all processes meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This role is responsible for supervising foundry workers, coordinating workflow, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Duties
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of foundry workers involved in melting, pouring, molding, and finishing metal castings.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards and minimizing waste.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation related to materials, labor, and output.
  • Train and mentor employees, providing guidance on proper techniques, safety protocols, and process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of raw materials, ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Work closely with quality control teams to address defects and implement process improvements.
  • Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in foundry operations, metallurgy, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of foundry experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of foundry processes, including sand casting, investment casting, and molten metal handling.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in foundry environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting foundry machinery and equipment.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and physically demanding environments.

Work Environment
