Job summary

Farrar Corporation in Norwich, KS seeks a Foundry Quality Supervisor to lead metallurgical integrity, process control, and QA in a green sand, ductile iron foundry. You will guide materials, processes, and castings to meet ASTM and customer specs while acting as the metallurgy authority.

Reporting to the Foundry Engineering Manager, you will supervise 2–3 quality technicians, drive corrective actions, support ISO 9001 compliance, and lead continuous improvement across molding, melting, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing-related field (or relevant experience substituted).
Experience in manufacturing or foundry environment is required.
Proficiency with lab testing equipment (spectrometer, tensile testing, hardness testing, metallography, sand testing).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor chemistry, microstructure, mechanical properties to ensure conformance to ASTM and customer requirements.
Lead root cause analysis for casting defects, scrap, and customer issues; implement corrective actions.
Direct and oversee foundry laboratory activities and train lab personnel.
Develop and maintain quality and process documentation for molding, core making, melting, finishing, inspection, and lab operations.
Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality to achieve foundry objectives.
Support safety and continuous improvement initiatives across foundry operations.
