Farrar Corporation in Norwich, KS (on-site) is seeking a Foundry Quality Supervisor to oversee metallurgical integrity, process control, and quality assurance within a green sand, ductile iron foundry. You will lead defect analysis, drive continuous improvement, and act as the quality representative for customers.

The role provides hands-on technical leadership across sand and molding processes, alloy/chemistry control, inspection systems, and documentation, supervising 2-3 quality technicians

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing-related field; relevant experience may substitute.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment is required.
  • Proficiency with lab testing equipment (spectrometer, tensile, hardness, metallography, sand testing).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor iron chemistry, microstructure and mechanical properties to ASTM and customer specs.
  • Evaluate raw materials for quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Serve as the foundry quality representative for customers; handle defect resolution and corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis for casting defects and scrap; verify corrective actions.
