Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mapleton, IL seeks a production supervisor to oversee a complex production line and coordinate safety, quality, and efficiency on the first shift. The role focuses on timely production, adherence to standards, and leadership of frontline teams.

Responsibilities include creating reports on production processes, training new hires, scheduling, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Relocation is available; visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Previous foundry experience.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to effectively leverage spreadsheets to support production reporting and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Create reports and records of production processes, tool issues, performance, and inventory; share them with managers and provide suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.
• Prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensure all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards.
• Train new hires, manage scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
