Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined with basic math skills.
• Able to follow detailed instructions and work in a group.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and operate heavy equipment.
• Forklift and crane experience preferred.
• Able to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces.
• Strong learning aptitude and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard manufacturing and operating procedures; learn 75% on the job.
• Perform pre-operative checks and use start-up checklists.
• Set up and operate furnaces for melting; inspect electrodes.
• Bleed water and vacuum systems; grind and prepare components.
• Clean, paint and maintain crucibles and base plates.
• Load electrodes; operate water and vacuum systems.
• Operate furnace controls and remelt electrodes; weigh ingots.
• Interpret video monitors and maintain records and logs.
• Maintain material and maintenance lists; perform leak tests.
• Support other departments as production demands.
