Job summary

MacLean Power Systems in Alabaster, AL, seeks a Foundry Supervisor to oversee daily production in our foundry, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will supervise workers through melting, pouring, molding and finishing, maintain equipment, review schedules, and coordinate maintenance.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work in extreme temperatures with 5S and lean principles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of foundry experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of sand casting, investment casting, and molten metal handling.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.
• Safety regulations and best practices in foundry environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise foundry workers in melting, pouring, molding, and finishing metal castings.
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and minimizing waste.
• Monitor equipment performance; coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Enforce safety procedures per OSHA and company policies.
• Maintain production records, reports, and documentation.
• Train and mentor employees on techniques, safety, and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
• Maintain adequate raw material inventory and coordinate material flow.
• Collaborate with quality control to address defects and落实 process improvements.
• Promote 5S and a clean, safe work environment; participate in lean initiatives.
