Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical/Materials/Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on foundry engineering experience.
• Direct experience with pattern design: gating, risering, and solidification.
• Strong, metrics-driven root-cause problem solving and scrap reduction.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the foundry's primary technical solver to drive throughput and quality across molding, melting, and finishing.
• Review scrap and rework reports to identify root causes and reduce scrap.
• Coach molding and melting teams to improve as-cast quality.
• Drive pattern and method design to improve yield and reduce finishing requirements.
• Identify critical control points and implement corrective actions.
• Reduce consumption of foundry consumables without compromising quality.
• Manage the foundry engineering staff.
• Apply statistical methods to analyze processes and establish standards.
• Provide technical support to departments inside and outside the foundry.
• Support new product development by translating customer requirements into producible casting designs.
• Recommend improvements to foundry equipment and facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
