Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for a hands-on shop floor role in Texas to lead foundry process development, quality control, and project management. This permanent position offers growth in a precision aluminum/magnesium foundry serving aerospace and defense customers.

The successful candidate will optimize casting processes, implement fixtures, and ensure safety while delivering high-quality products that meet tight tolerances and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of foundry experience focusing on process capabilities, process control, and rigging/fixture design.
  • Proven project management experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of foundry operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in CAD software for design purposes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with good prioritization.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage foundry processes to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Utilize process capabilities and process control to monitor and maintain process integrity.
  • Design and implement rigging and fixture designs to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee project management from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and solve complex foundry issues.
  • Ensure all foundry operations comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure machinery/equipment function properly.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the foundry team and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated with latest industry trends and best practices in foundry operations.
