Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is seeking a Foundry Core Maker for the 2nd shift in Syracuse, NY. The role focuses on setting up core making machines and producing shell, isocure, and pepset cores for use in the foundries.

The job includes minor repairs, machine adjustments, maintaining safety standards, and operating a forklift as needed. Salary is $22.52/hour base plus $1.50/hour shift differential; relocation support is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Set up core making machines and produce shell, isocure, and pepset cores for use in the foundries.
• Perform minor repairs, adjustments, lubrication, and settings for proper machine operation.
• Add vents or replace vents on urethane core boxes; drill straight holes as needed.
• Fill sand hoppers, assemble core boxes, and reinforce cores as directed.
• Position and move cores, operate fork truck, and maintain a clean work area.
• Report defective materials and unusual conditions to supervision; maintain visual measurements.

Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Foundry Core Maker- 2nd shift. The core hours are 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $22.52 + $1.50/hr shift differential per hour.

What you’ll do:

• Plan and perform all required duties to set-up core making machines and produce a variety of shell, isocure, and pepset cores for use in the foundries.
• Perform minor repair, adjustments, lubrications, and settings of machines to insure proper operation of the machines as well as, produce a quality part.
• Core boxes may need vents added to urethane core boxes and replace existing vents; drill only straight holes on flat surfaces as needed to perform these tasks.
• Perform necessary duties to fill sand hoppers as directed or required for machine production and perform core box assembly, prescribed use of rods, or nails for core reinforcement, removal of cores from box.
• Clean core and position cores in pan and move cores to designated areas and place on pallets
• Operate fork truck as required in performance of job duties.
• Perform a variety of similar or associated duties as required or directed.
• Detect and report all defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain visual measurements.
• Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations. Administer 5 S’s
• Complete training as assigned

Physical and Environmental Factors:

• Occasional lifting of parts up to 50 pounds.
• Most parts typically weigh 10 pounds or less.
• Prolonged standing throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting to load/unload parts from machines.
• Repetitive motions involved in placing parts into tubs and removing them.
• Pushing heavy tubs filled with parts, which can require significant physical effort.
• Extreme heat environment in summer months.
