Job summary

Southern Cast Products in Jonesboro, AR, is seeking a CAD Designer to join our engineering team. You will use SolidWorks to design mold packages, patterns, and tooling for our sand casting processes, while spending time on the foundry floor to learn molding and core-making firsthand—this hands-on experience is essential to designing tooling that works in production.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or CAD/drafting certificate preferred.
• Hands-on experience in CAD/drafting acceptable.
• Willingness to work on the foundry floor during training.

Responsibilities

• Train on the foundry floor to learn molding, core-making, and casting processes.
• Create and modify 3D models and drawings of patterns, core boxes, and tooling in SolidWorks.
• Work with engineering and production teams to translate customer part prints into castable tooling designs.
• Apply casting principles (shrinkage, draft, parting lines, coring) to designs.
• Review and redline drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Maintain organized design files and revision records.
