Job summary

Release, Inc. is opening a trauma-informed child care center in North Omaha and seeks a founding Center Director who will shape it from day one. You will build a team, establish culture, develop systems, and create an environment where children thrive, especially those affected by trauma and instability.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising within a daycare or early childhood setting.
• Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and retain a strong team.
• Clear communication and trust-building with families and staff.
• Ability to manage both people and operational details.
• Approach to challenging behavior with patience, curiosity, and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the child care center.
• Recruit, supervise, coach, and develop teachers and staff.
• Build a healthy, positive staff culture.
• Maintain licensing compliance and health/safety standards.
• Oversee enrollment, classroom placement, staffing ratios, and schedules.
• Develop relationships with parents, foster families, and kinship caregivers.
• Create a trauma-informed environment where children feel safe and supported.
• Partner with Release’s mental health and family support programs as appropriate.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and age-appropriate programming.
• Lead staff training and ongoing professional development.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing, billing, and subsidies.
• Establish policies, procedures, systems, and traditions for the new center.
• Serve as a visible leader with staff, children, and families.
