Job summary

Corgi Insurance Inc. is seeking a Founding Engineer to shape the transportation division and own the technology powering it. You will turn business priorities into production software, define architecture, and ship core systems for quotes, bindings, and policy services.

You’ll collaborate with executives to guide product and platform strategy, design embedded distribution APIs, AI underwriting tooling, and data pipelines, while building a reliable, scalable engineering culture in Boston.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production software.
• Ownership from idea through production.
• Strong technical judgment.
• Comfort across the stack: React, Node.js, Python.
• Practical AI experience.
• Product and commercial instinct.
• High agency and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Technical direction: Define the division’s architecture and engineering priorities.
• Policy lifecycle: Build systems for quote, bind, issue, and service trucking and business auto policies.
• Embedded distribution: Design APIs to integrate with TMS, ELD providers, load boards, factors, and compliance services.
• AI underwriting: Turn data into structured information and underwriting decisions with human-in-the-loop controls.
• Partner workflows: Build portals and tools for brokers and MGAs to submit and manage quotes and policies.
• Transportation data: Build pipelines for telematics, ELD, dashcam, and third-party data.
• Production quality: Ensure reliability, security, observability, and performance.
• Engineering team: Recruit, develop engineers, and set technical standards.
