Job summary

Magic in New York is seeking its first talent hire to own hiring end-to-end as we scale from dozens to many hires across engineering, design, and GTM. You will source via outbound and referrals, build interview steps and job descriptions, and shape how we make decisions.

You will lead a high-touch candidate experience, manage schedules and logistics, and work with recruiting agencies. This in-person role is based in SoHo with equity and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Full-cycle recruiting experience at startups and hypergrowth companies.
• Owned hiring for roles independently without a large team.
• Experience hiring both engineering and GTM roles; AI tooling knowledge.
• Outbound sourcing and strong follow-up skills.
• High agency, always networking.

Job description

We're looking for our first talent hire. We're planning to hire dozens of people next year across engineering, design, and GTM, and we want someone to own that hiring end to end.

What you'll do

• Own hiring for every role, from sourcing to close

• Source candidates via outbound and referrals, and keep pipelines full without relying on inbound

• Build our hiring process from scratch: interview steps, job descriptions, and how we make decisions

• Help hiring managers figure out what to look for, especially in roles we've never hired for

• Run a high-touch candidate experience, including scheduling, onsite logistics, follow-ups, debriefs, and references

• Keep the team accountable for fast, thorough feedback

• Work with our recruiting agencies

• Later on, shape our hiring brand and recruiting events (our most recent one was a magic show!)

Background

• Full-cycle recruiting experience at both an early-stage startup and a hypergrowth company

• You've owned hiring for roles on your own, without a big team behind you

• Experience hiring both engineering and GTM roles; technical recruiters who've also hired GTM are a great fit

• Outbound sourcing experience

• Strong organizational and follow-up skills

• Experience with AI-native tooling and process

• You don't need to have built a talent function before

• High agency and always networking

The offer

• Salary range $140,000-$180,000 and equity

• We work in person 5 days a week in our SoHo office
