Job summary

Harvey is redefining how professional services operate with agentic AI and an enterprise-grade platform. As a Staff Software Engineer on Security Engineering, you will found the security foundations and lead development of a platform for agents to perform security work, while shaping sandboxing and execution boundaries across product teams.

You will build protections, enable open-source model use with safeguards, and ship reusable security controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years developing and running production software and leading multiple engineering teams.
• Strong software engineering skills in Go, Rust, Python, or C++, with Linux systems and networking.
• Deep expertise in execution security, sandboxing, OS isolation, or untrusted-code platforms.
• Experience building shared platforms and helping teams adopt them with clear interfaces.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems, observability, and failover.
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows; manage tool use and data access risks.
• Strong communication and technical judgment; drive decisions to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for secure agent execution across security, infra, and product teams.
• Design and operate a platform for security agents to discover vulnerabilities within boundaries.
• Build reusable controls for agent tool use, code execution, and data access, with identity integration.
• Collaborate with product sandbox and internal agent platform teams on architecture and protections.
• Enable safe use of open-source models alongside infrastructure teams and data handling.
• Develop adversarial tests and telemetry to verify containment and surface failures.
• Lead delivery, mentor engineers, and remain hands-on through implementation and production.
