Job summary

Lambda Robotics in San Francisco builds autonomous systems for physical infrastructure. We’re seeking a founding software engineer to design the platform that enables a secure, reliable fleet of robots deployed across multiple customers and sites.

You’ll own core backend infrastructure, authentication, multi-tenant isolation, OTA updates, telemetry pipelines, and APIs to command robots. You’ll work closely with robotics engineers to bring telemetry and autonomy into production, scale from a few

Qualifications

• Experience building backend distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and networking.
• Proficiency with designing robust APIs and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Build the infrastructure for managing fleets of robots and secure multi-tenant systems.
• Design registration, identity, authentication, and access-control mechanisms.
• Develop OTA software deployment, updates, and rollback processes.
• Create logging, monitoring, and incident response tooling.
• Develop APIs and UIs for commanding robots and viewing status.
• Ensure telemetry, video, and operational data pipelines are reliable.
• Collaborate with robotics engineers to productionize teleoperation and autonomy.
• Define scalable architecture from dozens to thousands of robots.
