The Whit in New Orleans is launching its founding Food & Beverage team, and the Founding Salon Server will help bring our cocktail salon and dining spaces to life from day one.

This hands-on, guest-facing role emphasizes warmth, anticipatory service, and elevated hospitality within an intimate salon and dining environment, with opportunities to learn the menu and contribute to shaping our service culture.

Qualifications

• Previous serving experience in fine dining, luxury hotels, boutique hotels, private clubs, or other high-touch hospitality environments preferred.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong knowledge of food, cocktails, wine, Champagne, and service standards, or an eagerness to learn.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to elevated service.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, personalized service.
• Comfortable working in an intimate, guest-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth, confidence, and genuine hospitality.
• Deliver attentive, personalized service while anticipating guest needs before they are expressed.
• Create a relaxed, polished, and welcoming atmosphere throughout the salon and dining spaces.
• Develop a strong knowledge of our food, cocktails, wine, Champagne, coffee, and beverage offerings.
• Guide guests through menus and make thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences and occasion.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar teams.
• Deliver food and beverages with care, precision, and an understanding of elevated service standards.
• Maintain awareness of each table throughout the guest experience without being intrusive.
• Build genuine relationships with guests and remember preferences whenever possible.
• Maintain beautifully presented tables, service areas, and guest spaces throughout service.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen, bar, events, and hotel teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Handle guest requests, questions, and concerns with warmth, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Process guest checks accurately and follow established POS procedures.
• Complete opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities to ensure the salon is always ready for service.
• Support private events, celebrations, and special guest experiences as needed.
• Follow established service standards, recipes, procedures, and presentation guidelines.
• Contribute thoughtful feedback as we continue developing The Whit's service culture and guest experience.
• Support teammates and step in wherever needed to ensure every guest receives exceptional care.
