Job summary

Roger is seeking a Founding Recruiter in San Francisco to own the talent strategy from sourcing through closing. You will partner with founders to align hiring plans with business goals, design scalable processes, and build a world-class recruiting function that represents our culture with integrity.

You will build trusted relationships with engineers, operators, and product leaders while owning the employer brand and candidate experience. This early role offers real ownership and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in early-stage or high-growth startups.
• Proven ability to recruit technical talent, especially engineers, and earn trust with highly technical candidates.
• Experience hiring across both technical and operational roles.
• A relentless sourcer who hunts proactively, not just manages inbound.
• High ownership mentality and comfort operating in ambiguity.
• Strong communication and closing skills, able to represent Roger compellingly.

Responsibilities

• Own hiring end-to-end: source, engage, interview, and close exceptional engineers, operators, and product leaders.
• Partner directly with founders to translate goals into hiring plans, headcount forecasts, and role definitions.
• Build the recruiting engine: design sourcing strategies, funnels, interview loops, and candidate experience.
• Be the face of Roger to talent, telling the story authentically and building trust with top candidates.
• Embed in the talent ecosystem by developing relationships across technical, healthcare, startup, and founder communities.
• Create scalable foundations: document rubrics, onboarding processes, and scalable interviewing standards.
